Instructor-led training is a highly interactive form of learning that is conducted in real-time or synchronously with an expert instructor using video conferencing software to simulate a classroom environment. Other individuals prefer to train at their own pace with the flexibility to learn when it fits their schedule. Self-paced (sometimes referred to as on-demand or asynchronous learning) is another great option for learning new skills in smaller increments of time where you can tackle new topic areas, check your comprehension of those areas, and fit learning into timeframes that work best for you schedule.

Both of these memberships provide access to self-paced trainings. Many students prefer to train at their own pace with the flexibility to learn when it fits their schedule. Through our Data Science “Hero” and “Superhero” memberships, students gain access to 14+ unique data science related on-demand training courses with over 200+ hours of high quality video content, notebooks, and resources that can be accessed for the duration of the subscription purchased. In the “Hero” subscription offering (pay monthly or annually), students are able to attend Office Hour sessions with other students enrolled in other Pierian Training data science-related courses. In the “Superhero” membership, students are able to attend the Office Hour sessions and receive four, 1-hour, one-on-one tutoring sessions with an instructor.

You can immediately access all of our training materials upon registering for your course. You will receive an account created email that will allow you to access your Learner Dashboard. From there, you can view your courses and navigate to the Resources section of the course menu to view and download the course slides and any supplemental materials used throughout the course. 

Office Hours sessions with a live instructor can help solidify your understanding of topics covered in training through a little extra support alongside peers. If you have purchased a training package that includes Office Hours, navigate to your Learner Dashboard to locate your “Data Science Office Hours” on-demand course. Within this course, you will also find instructions on how to register and access the video conferencing link to join upcoming Office Hour sessions of interest. Once you join the session, the instructor will solicit questions from the attendees to address in a Q&A style of conversation. The instructor may screen share and provide additional explanations or suggestions as warranted by the questions submitted.

Private tutoring sessions with an expert can help rapidly clarify your understanding of a topic or specific use case to make you more impactful on the job. If you have purchased a training package that includes Tutoring sessions, a member of our team will reach out upon purchase to gather information from you regarding your background and preferred tutoring schedule to match you with a tutor. Once matched with a tutor, sessions will take place via Microsoft Teams meeting. While not required, we recommend scheduling all four sessions upfront as many students find that this helps keep them accountable to their personal learning goals. 

Yes, you will receive a certificate of completion showing that you completed a course with Pierian Training. You can download a PDF version from our learning management system. Please contact our Customer Service at info@pieriantraining.com if you need the name on your certificate changed from the one you registered with to more accurately reflect your full name.

Yes! We offer corporate instructor led group training and cohort-based training to help advance employees’ technology skills. Corporate instructor-led group training connects your team with one of our top instructors to guide your team to mastery in one of our many topics over the course of a few days. Cohort-based learning is a collaborative learning process in which a group of colleagues advance through a scheduled training pathway together. This is a proven approach that motivates employees and encourages team building while supporting professional development. Students are grouped together in a cohort, typically sized between 5-15 students, and enroll in a training pathway based on their desired new skills. The entire cohort is then paired with an expert coach who conducts mentoring session video calls with the cohort on a scheduled basis to ensure learning comprehension specific to the organization’s use cases and needs. Students can learn the material on a schedule that works best for them, but also have the accountability and support of a live coach and schedule to keep them on track. Cohorts can participate in instructor-led training, use self-paced training videos, or take a hybrid approach to provide maximum flexibility to employees.

We offer three levels of courses – introductory, intermediate, and advanced. Introductory courses require no prior experience with the subject area and are designed to take you from zero experience to having an actionable grasp of the material. For intermediate courses, students benefit greatly from prior introductory training in the subject area and/or work experience. However, all intermediate courses will include some quick level-setting review of the basics before diving into the primary content. Advanced courses are really designed for those who have completed training in the subject area and/or regularly work with the technical skill set the course is based upon. All courses, regardless of level, emphasize the practical application to the skills being trained, whether it’s for program automation, data analysis, visualization, or even predictive machine learning. 

All Pierian Training courses focus on free and open-source software and we guide the student on setting up their computer environment at the start of every course. It is recommended that Google Chrome is pre-downloaded as your browser. Any computer type (Mac or PC) is acceptable for Pierian Training courses. For our Google Cloud courses, all lessons are done inside the Google Cloud console in the browser. We’ll also show you how to sign up for Google Cloud free credits if it is your first time using the Google Cloud Platform

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). We also partner with Affirm to provide payment plan options. We also accept payment by check, wire transfer or approved purchase orders. We also accept government training funds, which include an approved SF-182. Exam fees are not included. Any exam fees must be paid directly to the governing body of the certification. For information on costs of Google Cloud Platform certifications, please visit: https://cloud.google.com/certification.

Yes you can. We understand that things come up and your schedule changes. We do not charge any rescheduling fees but we kindly ask that you provide us with at least one week’s notice. You can reschedule your course by calling or emailing us. If you’re unsure of the date, we can convert your registration into a voucher to be used within one year of your original purchase date.

You can sign up for the course up until the day before class begins. However, we have limited capacity and many of our courses fill up well in advance. Therefore, we advise students to register at least a few weeks before the course begins.

We offer several financial assistance programs. For individuals, we partner with Affirm to offer our students payment plans.
